Post the Seventeenth - Disposable Life
Oct. 5th, 2006 10:52 pmThere use to be a time when people took pride from their work, what they did, what they made.
"Look at the wheat Farmer Johnson is growing, his wheat is the best in the county."
"Buy your shoes from Price & Son, they make shoes that will last a life time."
And speaking of life times, what ever happened to a lifetime guarantee? When my Grandma got new counters in 1955 they came with a lifetime guarantee, today the same company only gives a 15 year guarantee.
So when did what we do stop mattering? Why have we allowed our whole lives to be disposable?
I am standing here in cyberspace today and saying my name is Naomi and I do the best I can. I pass along the highest standards to those I teach, and will continue to do so till the day I die.
