Post the Thirty-Fourth - Art
Apr. 22nd, 2007 09:01 am"How much would you pay for a white painting? Would it matter who the painter was? Would it be art?"
So I went to see "Art" last night and it was amazing!
First, the setting. Munson-Williams-Proctor Art Institute is a gorgeous place. Having to walk through the gallery to get to the stage really put me in a wonderful mood before the show.
Second, the actors. Jack and Donald (as Marc and Serge) were good, but Thom as Yvan was hilarious! As I told him, the perfect mix of teenage girl and three year old boy.
Third, the play. As a board member I have a season ticket, but I wasn't really looking forward to this show. So I was amazed by how much I was drawn into it. The balance between the three men, their relationships with each other, and with the panting, really was well done and thought provoking. Why do you stay friends with someone? And what do you hold back for the sake of friendship?
