Post the Fiftyth - Death to Acer!
Aug. 1st, 2007 10:59 amSo last year, after much research, I bought an Acer Aspire 5100.
The thing was a piece of crap. In the first the first four months it was sent to the repair shop, in TX, twice. Over the past year it has been broken more then it worked, and after repair number 4....
Well, I got it back the forth time late in the afternoon on July 3 turned it on, saw that the hard drive wasn't wiped this time, turned it off. July 4 partied all day, yeah USA! July 5 laptop worked fine. July 6, I turned my laptop on and my wallpaper started to dance.
My Mom got on the phone and ended up talking to Mark Hill, who is supposed to be some big shot at Acer. All he would give me was a refurbished laptop. Hello, you've refurbished the one I have four times!
Then my Mom called Circuit City (where I bought the laptop), now they had been hands off cus the manufacturer should take care of anything in the first year, but she talked to a manager Rich, and said he would swap it out!
So I now have a HP Pavilion. If we can get get through the first three months without any problems it will be a huge step up.
