“We have to tell you something.” Kaylee stood with a hand on Simon's shoulder “Well... Simon and I are going to have a baby.”

The rest of the crew sat shocked. It was Inara who first broke the silence. “I was wondering when you finally say something.” She moved around the table to embrace Kaylee. “Congratulations!”

That seemed to bring everyone back to life and there was a rush to offer well-wishes.

“You knew?” Mal asked.

“Well, I suspected.” Inara raised an eyebrow “I couldn't think of anything else that would make Kaylee give up her home brewed 'juice'.”
