Post the Ninth - Timewarp
Jun. 19th, 2005 05:40 pmOkay, ten years ago I was happy with my computer. My dear sweet (god how I miss it) Commodore 64. I could write reports, play games (who remembers the Lord of the Rings RPG on floppy disk? My hobbits would all die from hunger before I could even get them out of the Shire), and I knew how to work it. All of it.
Now, I have a Gateway Solo and I have no clue how the thing works. You turn it on and stuff is just there. Last week my computer just stops connecting to the LAN, no network, no internet, nothing. So now it's like my arm got cut off. I'm going nuts 'cus I can't do anything with it. Then it hits me, when did all this tecno-network-crap become the only way I can work? This past week I've been reading a book. (Books are how ideas were spread around before e-mail and blogs)
