When I found this file it was labeled, "For Moony". And here I thought it was just K who got me to write p0rn (well, for me it's racy).

I first posted this on my geocities page, but since that has gone the way of the dodo, here it is for your pleasure.

Was the hem even?

She spun around quickly, trying to keep her eyes on the mirror, yes. The hem was fine.

What about the... Nervous hands tugged at the bust. She didn't want every boy in town to ogle her, but she also didn't want Wyatt looking at anyone else.

“Adora, if you don't come down right now,” her mother called from downstairs “I swear we will leave without you!”

Adora grabbed a scarf, pulled on her cardigan and buttoned it as she made her way to the wagon. If her mother caught sight of the bustline on her dress she'd end up wearing a feed sack to the social.

Rumor had it that Wyatt Cain had come back from the Academy two days ago and the closer the wagon got to town the harder it was for Adora to sit still. It had been ten months since she had last seen Wyatt, ten months since she had asked him not to forget her, ten months since he had kissed her breathless.

The wagon came to a stop and next to her Dillon hopped over the side. “Come on, Dora! Mom said you had to take me to the games first!”

Adora gently climbed down from the wagon and took hold of her brothers hand. It wouldn't do for her to go running around the green hoping to catch a glimpse of him, but if she had to watch over her brother, and if Dillon wanted to see everything all at once... Well, she'd be an horribly mean sister to tell him no.

Billy was dragging her towards the ring toss when Billy Perkins came up to her.

“Hello there, Miss Smith.” He said respectfully as he removed his hat. “Lovely evening, isn't it?”

Damn it all!

“Why, yes it is.” She forced herself to smile. “Perfect weather for ice cream.”

Billy's face lit up. “Yes, ice cream. I was thinking, that is, if you want to, that maybe we could go and get...”

“I'm so sorry, Billy.” She patted his arm “But I'm suppose to be watching my brother, so I really can't chat right now.”

“Oh.” The light dimmed “Well, maybe later, at the dancing...”

“Good-bye!” Adora called over her shoulder as she followed after Dillon. She felt bad about dodging Billy like that, but really... Was it her fault that he couldn't understand what she meant by always being busy or with a friend whenever he was around?

“Come on, Dora!” Dillon pulled on her arm “I want to win the turtle!”

Her father had given her ten sterlings for Dillon to play the games with, and at this rate Dillon was going to use them all trying to win the stuffed turtle at the ring toss.
“One more time?” He asked.

“You've already spent three sterlings, Dillon.”

“Please, Adora? Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease?”

She hated when he pouted, and the big eyes, he always got her with the big eyes. “Alright.”

The man running the booth took her coin and handed her five rings. Dillon grabbed them from her and, with just as much lack of patients as the last three times, quickly threw them at the bottles. All five missed.

“Adora?”

She had to be firm this time, “No.”

Dillon stomped his foot and turned back to “humph” at the bottles.

From behind her, she felt someone move in, then quickly release their rings in rapped succession. All five rings spun around the same bottle for a second before finally coming to rest.

The person behind her said, “I'll take the turtle.”

Adora turned around to met a solid wall of chest. It was hard muscled, it was covered in dark blue cotton and it belonged to Wyatt Cain.

Adora looked up just in time to see a lazy grin lift up one corner of his mouth. “Hello, Adora.”

That wonderful mouth that only ten months ago had turned her mind to mush and her legs to jelly. He was leaning closer to her! Was he? Right here in the middle of the town green?!

He reached past her and took the turtle from the booth runner. Oh, of course. How silly of her to think that he would...

A wave of nerves suddenly over took her and Adora grabbed Dillon's hand and quickly walked away from the booth.

It had been ten months and while there had been letters, they had never said anything about... Them. What if he had met someone else in Central City? Some girl who bought her dresses in a store, not made them by hand, who never had to worry about if her hem was even or if her parents found out how low her bust was. That girl probably would wear a dress that was cut even lower, the hussy.

Adora suddenly realized how silly she was being, and how quickly she was walking, and looked down to apologize to Dillon for dragging him along.

Except Dillon wasn't next to her. Adora looked around and found him a few yards behind her, holding a stuffed turtle and talking to Wyatt.

She slowly walked back the way she had just come.
Breath. Just breath.

“Look what Wyatt gave me!” Dillon waved the turtle at her. Wyatt looked up at her from his spot kneeling next to Dillon.

“Wasn't that nice of him.” She prayed that her voice sounded normal.

Wyatt leaned over and said to Dillon, “Why don't you run over and show your folks.”

Dillon took off like a shot and Wyatt slow rose, brushing the dust from his pants.

“Let's try this again.” He said softly “Hello, Adora.”

Adora bit the inside of her check and took a deep breath. “Hello, Wyatt.”

Wyatt came a step closer to her and said, “You look... wonderful.”

She could feel a blush starting to form on her checks. “Do you like it?” She unbuttoned the sweater and shrugged it down.

Wyatt's eyes nearly fell out of his head and he quickly lead them over to a walkway between buildings. “You've been wearing that to all the dances?!” He grabbed the edge of the sweater and put it back up on her shoulders.

“No!” She didn't want him to get the wrong idea. “It's new. I made it the other day after I heard...” Oh Ozma! It was a stupid idea, I should have just gone with my green dress.

“Heard what?” Wyatt asked.

Adora closed her eyes, “Heard that you were back.”

Wyatt touch her check, “You made this... for me?”

She opened her eyes and took a breath to answer him, to admit exactly how silly she had acted, when she saw the chain around his neck. The chain that had the ring she had made him hanging off it.

“Wyatt...” She said softly as she placed her hand over the ring, over his heart.

Wyatt laughed, then pulled her to him. “You, Adora Smith, are the most wonderful thing the whole Zone!” He laughed again and swung her around.

She was dizzy, that's why she leaned back against the wall.

Her hands were fisted in Wyatt's shirt, that's why he leaned against her.

It had been ten months and he still had her ring, that's why she kissed him.

He always liked her gifts, that's why he pushed her sweater off and ran his hand over her back.

She couldn't get the thought of his chest out of her mind, that's why she undid some of the buttons on his shirt.

He'd never seen anything as wonderful as the way her chest moved as she tried to catch her breath, that's why his hand slid up to trace the strap down her shoulder to where it met the top of the dress.

She liked running her fingers through the hair on his head, that's why she ran them through the hair on his chest. She also liked the way he moaned and let his head fall back when she scratched over his nipple, that's why she bent her head and kissed it.

He had spent the last ten months worrying that she would give up on him, or that some other guy would sweep her off her feet, that's why he took a hold of her thigh and pulled up over his hip.

She had never wanted anyone the she had wanted him, that's why she moaned his name and pulled his hand up to her breast.

They knew that there would be more time apart, but they also knew that they would end up together, that's why they let it happen. Twice.
