"Raise A Little Cain" 11/12
Apr. 17th, 2008 11:51 pmOkay, so hiding in her room was out. Her mother was waiting there to give her some hints on how to... Not going there.
That also meant that hiding in Cain's room was out.
Az would think of the library, Glitch would think of the workshop, and Raw would just walk around 'feeling' for her.
And how long had Raw been making book for the castle?
DG froze at the sound of footsteps coming down the hall.
The footsteps stopped before getting to her and DG let out the breath she had been holding. Hiding spot, now!
Somewhere that would be comfortable enough to spend the night, where people wouldn't think to look for her, but close to people who could mask her thoughts.
Hummmm...
Cain was just settling in when he heard the creak of the ladder.
Damn Raw.
Cain had been cornered right after dinner by Ahamo who was egger to know if his earlier advice had been helpful. Through the whole conversation Cain had been thinking of a place to hid. Frankly he was scared that he would wake up to find out that he and DG had been locked in together with no hope of being released until... well, they released.
Cain had figured that it would be best just to lay low for a while. Stay out of the way and hope everyone would forget about this whole stupid thing. He had thought that he had covered his tracks to the hay mow, but Raw could be out there just 'feeling' for him.
And how long had Raw been making book for the castle?
Cain huffed and got ready to be dragged back to the castle, but the head that popped over the ledge was furry. It was black and kind of mused.
“You hidin', princess?”
DG's eyes flew up to met his. “What are you doing here?!”
“Trying to avoided people. But you...” Cain eyed the blankets and large basket of food she had brought up with her. “You look like you're setting in for a long haul.”
DG snorted. “Maybe my people are more tenacious then yours.” She said in a haughty tone.
“Your father gave me a list of places around the palace if we wanted a quickly.” Cain turned away from her slack jawed expression and started looking through the basket of food. “He also said something about hot monkey sex. Is that normal on the other side?”
DG flopped down onto the blanket and threw her arm over her eyes. Maybe this all was a dream, maybe she was sick and had a fever, maybe there was an autistic looking at a snowglobe and making this all up.
DG moved her arm to see Cain still standing there.
“It's just a saying.”
Cain rose an eyebrow, “A saying?”
“Yup, there is no sex with monkeys.”
“Okay then.” Cain bent over and started to untie his shoes.
Before she could control it, her mouth opened, “What the hell happened to your ass?”
Cain whipped around, “What?”
DG rose to her knees. “Where'd it go?”
Cain twisted his back in an attempt to see just what in the blazes she was talking about.
“You've been working out almost non stop, how do you lose muscle definition?”
“What are you talking about, DG?”
Reality picked that moment to come crashing back. “Um... Nothing. Never mind.” She went to throw herself back onto the blanket, but Cain's arm caught her around the waist and pulled her back to his chest.
“DG,” Cain let the pause hang there “How do you know that I've lost mass in my gluts?” DG cursed that teasing tone he had. “Have you been studying my ass?”
“So what if I have.” DG shot back as she tried to free herself from his grip. All that she managed was to pulled him down on top of her.
“If we were on the other side I would have to say that you were trying to go for a roll in the hay with me.” She quipped.
“I'm gonna hope that it means the same thing on the other side as it does here.” Cain shifted his wight as he said this, causing DG to end up straddling him.
“What's it mean here?” She asked, a flashback to a late night Mel Brook's movie playing in her mind. Roll, roll, roll in the hay.
“It's a euphemism for sex.”
“Thank god!”
