nestar: (Ever After Yellow Dress)
I spent last night with old friends - ones I have known for ages and ones that I haven't seen in ages.

Right now I have a mug of brewed in a pot tea and 2011 is looking pretty good (even if I just got an e-mail from my teacher saying I only got a 79 on my last assignment).

Last week [livejournal.com profile] marcasite posted this meme on her journal and now I am shamelessly copying it.

Fic of 2010... )

Okay everyone, watch this video that Rev made. If you are feeling the awesome then go to his YouTube channel and check up the follow up.

Hey everyone! I'm Naomi, one of the bridesmaids and the one in charge of the bridal party dance.

This is the dance we'll be doing...

Don't panic! It's really much easier then it looks. Also, in the movie they do variations on the basic - we won't. There is also going to be a lot of free styling, so work on your best moves.

For us it will be:
Basic set
Soul Train Line
Guys free style
Girls free style
Basic set to end

See, I said it would be easy.

Here is a download link to the edit of the song that we will be dancing to - 0nly 2:20!

To help with the basic set here's a video of two girls from San Fransico who taught their whole class how to do it. (The real dancing starts at 2:07, ignore the sillyness before that.) Where they run to the back of the stage is where we will split into the soul train.

As you can start to see, the hardest part is the "kick, knee out, knee in" bit at the start of the basic. Other then that it's just "step right, step left" and a bunch of hand stuff.

Basic Set Brake Down
Right leg kick - hands out straight
Right knee out - hands to the left
Right knee in - hands to the right
Right foot points - Left hand up
Left foot points - Right hand up
Shift weight - swing hands
Shift weight - swing hands
Nod head
Cross left foot over right
Turn
Step to the right - circle right hand
Step to the left - circle left hand
Step to the right - hand jive
Step to the left - hand jive
Step to the right - hand jive
Step to the left - hand jive

Practice hard and if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.
