I will now crawl back into my writing hole.

One of my NaNoWriMo "Project Work in Progress" stories.

Thanks go out to the amazing [livejournal.com profile] cincoflex who created the term, Koltarkta, and graciously let me use it. If you think Spock/Uhura is hot, you should check out her Trip/T'Pol stories.

I also want to thank the amazing folks at the Vulcan Language Dictionary. With out all their hard work, this story would have never happened.

There was always a thrill that comes with opening a new book.

For Cadet Uhura the thrill was intensified by that fact that the book was written in a different language. She fell back on her bed and drunk in the first line.

WOO HOO! WOO HOO!

One more story done!

I've also been really looking at the ones remaining, and I think there are some that it's just time to give up on. They never had fully formed plots/ideas and there was nothing ever posted from them. but I don't know...

Tell me what you think, oh mighty F-List. Should they stay or should they go?

Fanny & Tom - A Mansfield Park AU. After being nursed back to health by Fanny, Tom develops tender feelings towards her.

Pride United vs. Prejudice - A Pride and Prejudice retelling. Lizzy Bennet is a quick witted soccer referee and Wil Darcy is a soccer coach looking to build his club. An over heard comment starts them off on bad footing, and every coach will tell you, never piss of the ref.

A Muse is a Terrible Thing to Waste - My '05 NaNo attempt. Cecelia is a Nymph who is in training to become a muse. But thing take a turn for the worse when the human she's paired with goes on a mad writing rampage and nearly drives Cecelia to madness trying to keep up.

Scenes From a Grassy Knoll - My '06 NaNo attempt. In the small community that is state level 4-H, a young girl grows up and falls in love for the first time. But what happens several years later when she's brought back in contact with that group and the boy who broke her heart?

For all you awesome TM fangirls, a scene from an upcoming chapter of "Somewhere Not Over the Rainbow" (note: this is straight from the page and has not been to Erin yet, now you can see what she has to put up with).

This way to bad grammar and misspellings... )

Another day, another story finished. Go me.

Of course I haven't broken 1,000 yet, but I am still hopeful. After all, I do have the rest of "Tell Me of Your Yesterdays" to take on.

Story Count: 2/18

I've gone through the different versions of the list that I found and have made a list of "My" 50.

50 Things to do in Wal-Mart )

I also know that I'm going to have a main cast of three people. Tim (from the "Book of Tim" challenge), Erin (cus she is awesome and said "pick me"), and the other character who sets up the whole thing but who I don't have a name for yet.

On the ML side I have all the write-ins set up and I talked to a local bakery and they will be donating a couple of boxes of day old baked goods, yeah!!!

More time wasting from me. A NaNo wallpaper. I made it for my comp, which I have set to 1280x720, but if you want one let me know the size you need and I'll pop it out.

Also, I have the Saturdays marked 'cus that's when the area Write-Ins are, so if you want one let me know what days you want marked.

Okay, I didn't like the way the side bar looked when it was that big, so I change it a bit. Also I marked the 10, 20, 30, 40 & 50 thousand days (if you are writing 1,667 words a day).

I've seen that a bunch of Tin Man fans on my f-list are joining up to do NaNoWriMo. I made a thread for us in the Virtual Worlds forum - Live Journal - Team Tin Man Unite!!!

I've also gone through and posted the answers to the song meme.

[livejournal.com profile] alchemistc, I have all the songs for your mix, so the question is: do you need cover art or can I skip it?

A plot bunny just hopped into my house. It hasn't made any real show of wanting to stay. But I don't know if I want to chase it away or not.

Background Information:
Inverness - A story centering around Fiona, the waiting woman to Lady McBeth. (I love this bunny)

50 Things to Do at Wal-Mart - A story about a group of friends and their quest to do all 50 things. (This is the new bunny)

The Question:
For NaNoWriMo, should I...

Finish last year's story, Inverness.

Write a new story, 50 Things to Do at Wal-Mart

Two years ago I took part in my second NaNoWriMo.

I had just gotten over a 10 month long bout of Writer's Block, and I thought to appease my muse with a story devoted to her.

Instead she got "A Muse is a Terrible Thing to Waste" and I think she's been pissed at me ever since, why else would she build a doogie door for Steve?

This morning I looked over the story (what there was of it) for the first time in a year and a half. I thought I'd share some of it with you.

Intro... )

I have made my NoNo's MC a singer, not as a profession, just some one who has a good voice. And this works in so many places! She is a gentlewoman to Lady MacBeth, so she can sing while she and the other ladies are sewing, she can sing at a party, she can sing for the King ;)

And thanks to "Mad Tom of Bedlam" I'm almost back to where I should be word count wise: 25,649! (Should be 30,006)

So now I get to watch "Ugly Betty". Thanks, word padding!
nestar: (Icon be back soon)
Worked the polls yesterday, which means I woke up at 3:45 (cus I was scared I'd miss my 4:30 alarm) , sat in a hard plastic chair in a freezing cold/frying hot fire department for 16 HOURS, then crashed when I got home.

But even with all the hours of doing nothing the NaNo word count sits at 6,896.

Okay, I'll really have to get my butt in gear by the write in. But now I must fly, ballet class is calling and I soooooo need to stretch.
nestar: (Icon be back soon)
I had so much time today to write, but instead I just stared at the screen.

Word count for today: 524 (1,143 down from where I should be)
Word count over all: 5,817 ( 851 down from where I should be)

So I really need to get myself pumped to write. Or maybe I should just go to the old trick of a chocolate for every 200 words I write. Yeah 8 chocolates for me!

Word Count: 2,038
Time writing 2 1/2 hours

All I needed to be on goal was 3, 334, so yeah me!

And now for he news...

NaNoWriMo (or National Novel Writers Month) starts in 10 hours.

I have a title; "Inverness".

I have the basic story idea; filling out the life of Lady MacBeth's gentlewomen.

I have a LJ for my NaNo. [profile] nano_inverness

I do not have a plot outline done.
So far: Fiona grows up the house of Lord Doesn't-Have-A-Name-Yet. When his daughter gets married Fiona is appointed as her gentlewomen. Fiona then gets to see all the events that take place in "MacBeth".

But I have no clue of where she ends up after "MacBeth". Do I have her on her own? Does she get a chance at romance? If so, then with whom? King Malcolm? Prince Donaldban? The stable boy?

Oh, and I also need to find christian names for just about every one. Lady MacBeth was not born with that name.
